I've posted a few pics of late of some of my hard to ID knives. Now this one I think cold be the most difficult. The only brand marking I can find is Rabone. The little bit of research i have done shows Rabone as a ruler maker (the ones that fold out and extend). I thought this might have been some old sailors knife, or is it possible that someone has cut down a Rabone ruler and made this quite unique knife? Would love some advice and direction on this knife

Looks like a ruler with the tick marks going along the side. Pretty neat I never seen anything like it.

That's pretty cool. It is a ruler that has a handle and an edge. What about holding an edge? Any indication that it has been heat treated properly or is it just a sharpened ruler? Pretty cool.

I can't see any ruler markings along the edge, but it is pretty pitted and worn, but still and interesting piece. It's reasonably flexible, sort of like a filleting knife, I was thinking someone may have used it as such, with the ruler a helpful tool to measure their catch? Might account for the fialr heavy pitting with salt water etc. Thanks for all of the feedback
