OK, this animal thing has to stop.
Today, while working on the smithy, I saw these two little fellows peeking out at me. They would sneak out and see what I was doing and then high-tail it back behind then smithy. There is a den under the storage part of the smithy. My banging around over their den probably spooked them. They are pretty young, and I think Mama raccoon is dead. They should be able to take care of themselves, hopefully. I sat down on a box and held my camera, talking to them all the time. They eventually came out to check what I was doing ( and I got some nice photos) and then went back into the den to get a nap.

Dear St. Stacy,

We are pleased to report you have earned a few more pennies in heaven for your love of mother nature and her little ones.

Carry on and be safe, The Canonizing Committee

Cute raccoons there Stacy. I have one who come around in the evening looking for a handout. Me and the wife throw leftover table scraps out for him. I know he enjoys the delicious tasting morsels. It appears to be a older raccoon, he starting to show his age.:D

I have also killed two large snakes when I was out in the yard cutting the grass. The larger one came into the shop and I grabbed my leaf blower and got him back out in the driveway and stabbed him with a shovel. And that ended his career. Thanks for posting the photo of the raccoons really enjoyed the photo.

Terry don't tell Stacy about killing any snakes, he is a high standing member of Hug A Snake Society. :)

Don't worry. I'll be fine. But when Terry has that plague of rats and mice overrun his shop, he will want that snake back.

I've always wanted to try a rattlesnake dinner. But as far as the mouse and rat's that is not a problem here in my shop. I keep a good supply of rat poison out for things of that nature. My wife is terrified of snakes. She is terrified of nightcrawlers also. I can remember back a few years ago when we were out in the boad fishing and I handed her a nightcrawler and she almost jumped out of the boat and that ended that fishing events. I never did that again.

Terry if you really want to try some Rattlesnake just come on down. I used to get involved with several of the round ups and they can be allot of fun. Have not been to one is several years, but I do not they stopped cooking them, but they may have. There was some talk awhile back about the poor Rattlesnake needing to be on the endangered species list. If you really want to see some folks that are nuts you need to go to one of these. There are a group of people that get into the pit that is full of snakes and grab one at a time and milk them for their poison. Those folks are nuts. Ok, sorry about the drift, back to the cute Raccoons. :)

Hey Raccoons are cute when you do not have an infestation. I have had 26 that come to visit (this year alone) and left for a better place with the Humane Society. The more they are fed, the more they multiply, some nit wit across the mountain from me (less than 1/2 mile) is feeding them dog food. Of course they migrate here. Balance of nature is important.

Hope Charlie doesn't see this, he'll bust the dogs and .22 out.... :)

Rattlesnake is good to eat. I just don't like seeing them hanging off of my snake boot.

I've had a "cute" coon make me climb my stand out of a tree.....

I'm with birdog; they'd be cuter after I popped them with a .22. Rabies shots are no fun....don't ask.:)
