Who has em? What do you suggest?
Looking for the most bang for buck, trying not to buy a Valentine (too much cash outlay).
Any recomendations on where to buy?

TIA,
Sean

Sean,

I bought a Uniden (did I spell that right?)after reading an article in Car and Driver (I think). They said it was the most sensitive and just liked it all around. New car windows are treated to reduce solar loading and interior damage. Some windows use metalic deposits - these reduce the RADAR signal that gets to the detector. Some use "pigment" - these reduce LIDAR signals. So, the more sensitive the detector, the better. Plus, everyone worries about false tripping. One just learns when it is real. But, when you're on the open highway, speeding, and the unit trips, best to cut back to 5 mph over for a bit anyway.

I think I spent $100 on mine two years ago. Good luck.

Hey Guys...

Bell-Tronics is the Only radar detector I'll put in my car...

The new stealth models are the Cats A$$ over here in Canada....

You gotta learn how to drive with them though.. It's not permission to speed.

Sean,

Hope you haven't made your descision yet. I have owned a "Valentine One" for five years, and it is beyond compare with any other unit on the market. I have owned numerous others ie. passport, bel-tronics, uniden, whistler and no others can even compare.

Chris
