Patsy was at the Gainesville V A hospital today. She got a clean bill of health BUT just to be sure ,she has to have 5 minutes of radiation 5 days a week .

VA suggests she stay there at their Hope House rather than ride the DAV van about 4 hours a day.

I have mixed thoughts about this but 200 miles a day on our GMC will take a big bite out of our savings. Guess we'll play it by ear.

I want to thank you all by supporting us through our ordeal.

We wish you God's Blessings.

1. Take the "free ride" on the VA, it is not the 200 miles a day, it is the 4 hours in a car, that you could be walking around on.

2. Out of curiosity, you and Patsy got married, right?....I know that this is not the Cove, but....have you had sex with her yet?

3. She had breast cancer....and from the sound of it, it was radical mastectomy.....did she get implants?

Not to sound like a pig, but you are the one that brought all this up, originally.

Prayers and smoke sent, best wishes to the both of you.

Best Regards,

1. Unk--- Good idea.

#2 Unk--- Yes & yes

3. She had breast cancer....and from the sound of it, it was radical mastectomy.....did she get implants?

# 3-- Unk---No implants for a year. Lengthy procedure, much grafting, several trips after skin grafts heal. Then they do another. Might take a year--start to finish.

Not to sound like a pig, but you are the one that brought all this up, originally.

# 4 Unk--- Hope the questions are answered .

...And why is any of that any of YOUR business? Sorry, but that was just rude of you to ask those questions.:grumpy:

Dann,

I don't operate like most people.....depending on how much information you put out initially, I will respond in kind....UA showed unusually deep revelation of personal information on the internet, initially, I responded in kind.

You don't have to like it, but I don't think that I have broken any rules...except maybe of taste or decorum, but you should know better than that, besides, UA is a horndog.;)

And....Congratulations, Uncle Alan....I truly wish you the best of times, obviously chemo sucks, but at least Patsy has you to go through it with her....better than alone, and in fear and pain.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

It's truly great to see how much you have supported her throughout her ordeal.

Glad she has a clean bill of health, I pray she stays healthy.

Prayers sent to you and Patsy.

Part 2

We were in our garage smoking & sipping a beverage & trying to scope out how to cope with all the travel, etc when we wondered how her radiation would be applied .

Anyone familiar with this?

Uncle Alan :D

Unk,
Here is a brief version of how they nuked me. First time was scans and x-rays to target where the radiation was to be focused. Once that was figured out, my body was marked with little ink dots so I would be in the proper position for each treatment. Each visit I laid on a table and techs made sure everything was lined up. Movement of the device was programmed into the machine. It moves around about two or three feet from your body. Treatment don't last very long at all, she will not feel anything during the treatments. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have. I for one do not care if you have slept with her or if she has implants.

I was thinking of you guys the other day wondering how things were going..I am glad all is going as well as could be expected. Is there some cheap housing nearby...one room apt. you could rent for say $350 or something?

cheaper than driving..

Uncle,
Your first post read "Radiation for 42 weeks.....", did you mean 42 treatments instead of 42 weeks?

Patsy was told ," One 5 minute treatment per day for 42 weeks."

Evidently this is a minor dosage. Will know after first visit.

Thomason was right !

Garbled/misread Instructions deciphered. Now reads 42 treatments which equates to 8 weeks.

Our delayed vacation will come in late November. On the plus side,Collards will be sweeter & Carolina pork BBQ will taste much better as well as the crisp slaw & hushpuppies .

Gonna' bring back a slab of smoked bacon too. Oh yeah, & cheaper comissary smokes.

We'll stay in a cabin [riverside ] at the huge Elizabeth City N.C. USCG base. Costs about $25.00 a night, fully furnished. Bring toiletries & anything you want to cook .

You vets might want to see if you qualify. A call to the nearest military base might save you a ton on vacation.

Uncle Alan :)

Good to hear the "clean bill of health" part. Sending prayers and a few Nam Myo-ho Renge Kyos to you and Patsy. God bless you both.

Patsy came home Friday afternoon a bit worn but happy that it went rather well. Her motel was about a ten minute from the hospital & she was able to eat there rather cheaply & surprisingly enough,it was about home quality.

To perk her up[and a great investment ] I bought her a gold piece about the size of a quarter & a gold rope chain.

I found these things in a pawnshop & evidently they don't read the financial pages . I can sell the gift & make 50 % profit since gold hit $740 something an ounce.

WE are blessed & wish God's Blessings on we all.....
