I recently received a package from Raidops. Inside the package was a Delta tool and a Little John knife.
The Delta is slightly different from my other one (which I lost) in that it has it’s surface ‘carved’. The look is very eye appealing! The Delta is made of Ti and does not have sharp edges, making it an ideal tool for a discrete fistload/knuckle.
Raidops’ popular Little John fixed blade has evolved a little from when it first produced. The major difference is that instead of black G10 scales, this Little John has a set of brown micarta scales. I spoke with Kim who explained that he had to find an alternative to black G10 as it was difficult to obtain in Korea. Kim was able to find a source in Korea that made quality micarta and he decided to go with a more reliable source for his knives. (the scales on my Little John are actually Dynawood) The scales have an interesting cut out for the index finger… kind of an option for where the finger can grip (if that makes sense). The other interesting difference is that the flats of the blade are ‘carved’. This is very much a Raidops looking knife and I like the look! The Little John is still a beefy little fixed blade with a ¼” thick blade spine. It is hefty and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it. The finish on the blade is a grey gunmetal color with the spine of the knife polished, giving it a two tone look. I will have to check with Kim, but I believe that the steel is now S30V (it's actually M2, at least on this particular knife). I’m not sure what the finish is, but it looks like it might be Kim’s new nitrade finish.
Little John Specs:
OAL: 6”
Blade Length: 2.4”
Handle: Dynawood
In comparing the Little John with my Middle John, the only significant differences are blade length and overall length. The handle on the Little John is slightly shorter and Kim has added a small finger groove to the rear of the index finger cut out.
Kim has improved how he puts on an edge and this Little John is very sharp.
The Little John’s sheath is kydex in a camo pattern. It is well executed and fits securely.
All in all, an EXCELLENT little knife! I have used it in light cutting duties and it has performed well. I haven’t really used it hard as I have not had time to take it out for a test drive.
I would like to thank Kim for ‘gifting’ me with the Delta as I had lost mine. THANK YOU!
