I received a RaidOps SSCP (Soldier Spirit Compact Para) from Kim. This knife is a compact version of Kim's popular Soldier Spirit knife. The blade steel is 1/4" S30V with a hollow ground 4" clip point blade profile. The scales are textured G10. The flats and spine of the blades have Kim's signature texturing... I really like this feature. A well fit kydex sheath comes with the knife.

When held the knife really locks into your hand. The jimping on the spine allows a secure thumb hold. Well balanced and super sharp too. Although this little beasty is a stout knife, it doesn't feel heavy in the hand.

In comparison to my larger Soldier Spirit, there is little difference in the feel between the two knives... a little weird, but a testament to Kim's quality work. The loss of 1.5" of the SSCP is hardly noticed.

I like the look of these - especially the Black Tiger - but they are incredibly thick. Does he make any that are not quite as chunky?

Kim is a custom maker, so if you ask, he can probably make you a knife with thinner scales or no scales at all. His turn around time is impressively quick when compared to other custom makers, especially since the knives are made in S. Korea.

For what you are paying for, RaidOps knives are a great value. :thumbup:
 
Its not the scales that worry me, is the size of the stock. ;)

Kim has made thinner knives. If you ask him, he could probably accomodate. I know that he has made Ti knives with much thinner stock.

How many versions of the Soldier Spirit does he make?I just scored a SS Heliborne and I love it:D
