Well, Kim finally made a tanto profile blade. The size is approximately the same as his RAIDOPS Middle John series of knives. Kim lists the tanto profile as the LJ5CTM (3" blade), but it appears to be a chisle grind. What I have below is his traditional hollow grind with a 4" blade, with some very nice lines! Very very sharp edge too.
When speaking with Kim, he said he was reluctant and did not want to make an american style tanto profile as he didn't really have a use for one. Kim uses his knives HARD, so he likes the profile to be practical. The tanto profile just wasn't practical for him.
Kim said he has had more than few requests for a tanto profile, so he studied the blade profile and this is what he came up with. Looks to be a very good piercing tip. This is the first time I have seen serrations from Kim too. Simple, but they should be effective.

This is a BEEFY little knife. The 4" blade profile looks perfect to me, and the handle is grippy. I really like this knife! Kim definitely knows what I like. I don't see this knife on Kim's site, but I'm sure he would make it should someone request it. Let him know you want it just like the one he sent to his good friend Jon in Canada.
