i have a whole bunch of rail spikes and am going to make knives out of them...however...i do believe i will have a better chance of selling them if i have a few different designs on both the handles and blades....right now i have done a single edge with a half twist on the handle and a single edge with the handle just being flat. I am looking for more suggestions on both single edge and double edge knives...i have a lot to play around with.
Thank You,
Irishman

I have a friend that knew Joe Keeslar way back and he was very impressed with Joe's knives. The one feature he remembers most was how Joe would hammer and chisel the rough figure of a wolf's head sticking out the back end of the tang. Maybe you can do something similar. Take care! Michael

Check my page for two of the spikes I did recently. I've done another one more recently with an inverse curve to it, but I haven't scanned it yet, and probably won't until it's finished. The sky is the limit with these things, though. They're a good starting shape for all kinds of ideas. http://www.freespeech.org/oz/projects.htm
