rain gear help!

Could anyone recommend a rain jacket with ventilation zippers and must be so water proof that I could stand in rain for long periods of time. This rain gear could be the cheap plastic ones like the surplus stuff...but must have ventilation zippers. Also could you guys take a look at the north face one's at the bottom?

Here are a few good ones. I own both and the Marmot is a little nicer but not that much if you want to save some money go with the Red Ledge, they are great too. Both are fully taped seams, breathable, and pack into their own pocket for easy storage. Both are around ten ounces.

MEC have durable coated nylon/plastic raingear with vents. Kinda pricy though, for non breathable stuff. Marmot Precip is waterproof/breathable (proprietary goretex). It is really cheap, and works quite well.

id stay away from north face these days . you can get much better gear from mountain hardware for a better price. personally i use arc'teryx stuff cause it caters to climbing and is built far more durable ,it comes with a price though. mountain hard wear has come a long way over the past few years and have alot of good stuff out . check them out , preferably where the best deal is [campmore and the like ]. dont buy junk , your life may depend on your gear so choose wisely.

In my opinion, Arc'teryx is the best stuff out there for the reasons mentioned earlier,, and it has the awards to prove it. Made in Canada with all the bells and whistles meant for using in full-on conditions. I love my stuff.Best hood out there.Cut to perform without riding up on you . That said, you pay for wearing a product made locally(I'm from Canada), but I figure those guys in rainy B.C. might know a thing or two more about keeping the rain out than The North Face and Mountain Hardwear, both from sunny California with their stuff made in China. A less expensive alternative in MEC. Their stuff is made in Canada as well and it comes at a fraction of the price of the big names. Plus, it's in Canadian dollars, so you're saving money buying it from them. From my experiences with it, it's the best stuff out there from a value point of view.MEC stuff is made for using as well,not just going to the mall with a fancy logo on your shoulder.
