Does anyone else think the rainbow colour knives are just a bit strange? I don't think they look "pretty" I think it just looks ridiculous. I don't think I could bring myself to purchase a knife that looked like a leprechaun vomited on it.
Edit:
A buddy of mine whipped out his rainbow leek and told me his knife was way better than my "cheap knife" (An opinel #9.) He "only paid" $150 for his rainbow leek. He stopped bragging when my opinel out sliced his leek. I always find it hilarious when people assume that more money always = better, and "fancy" is nicer. From my point of view, my opinel is a better knife. It costs less, slices better, looks better (imo) and is nicer to hold. The wood finish on the opinel doesn't scratch up after a year of use either, and if ever my opinel takes a crap and breaks...I can get a new for for $10-15. I DO like my more expensive folders, but where else can you get a great, sharp carbon blade for less than the cost of dinner?
