A guy on FSOT has one for a good price. I like the Leek style..convince me in or out of the rainbow finish...

I bought one for my sister, its her favorite knife. The finish still looks great on it. It shows every single fingerprint though.....Oh and its a girls knife:p (j/k)

The Leek is a great knife.

Rainbow finish ? Not my thing. :) Too flashy !!

I'm not really supposed to carry a knife at work...

So I bought a rainbow chive, thinking that it is about the least threatening looking knife I could find that is still useful and practical.

It succeeds on both accounts. Great little knife, but yes it is very fingerprinty .....and no it's definately not the manliest knife in the world. :o

....does it look more manly if it's next to my other EDC blade, which has a manly name like the Mayhem ??? ;)

...oh and I also have a Leek (mine is the damascus version) ...and it is a great knife for the money. IMHO

The damascus is the one I really want.

My wife insists the rainbow one is too girly. As soon as I said "rainbow" in my head, I figured that would be the consensus...but had to check to see if anyone had a different opinion.

Yeah, I like the damascus too. Good, sleek little knife, and a great price for real damascus steel.

...FYI my leek was the absolute sharpest knife I've ever seen out of the box!

The rainbow finish is pretty cool, if you're secure in your manhood. :D Seriously, it wears well, but it will show fingerprints pretty quickly.

I've got one. It's my favorite folder. If someone questions my manhood because of the finish, which has not happened so far, then so be it. Maybe they'll get to see the fixed blade I carry, too.

My wife has the rainbow Leek. That finish is so tough that it is awesome.

Biggest problem is that its sometimes a bit slippy which makes it a little harder to release the frame lock than the other models. As for manhood threat, when you ask your wife to pick up a Leek for you and she passes you the Pink Leek that you have to use all week while you are away, than the Rainbow Leek is not so bad.

Not every knife has to be serious-tactical-black. Go for it:D

An interesting aside; all black knives look even cooler next to a rainbow leek. It makes blacks blacker:thumbup:.

I have a heavily carried Rainbow Leek. I got it for the superhard surface and it looks new still. I have 3 leeks. The rainbow is most durable.:thumbup:

I was thinking about selling my Rainbow Leek but then I changed my mind and decided to keep it. It gives some color to my knife collection. As far as the Leek design goes, I think I have about a dozen different Leek variations. It is a nice little EDC.

I may have mentioned this before in another thread, but the rainbow Leek is my most carried edc knife. I love the blade, the quality, the ergos, the size, the auto open, all if it! As for the rainbow finish, it is simply the best "camouflage" for using a knife anywhere, even at the office. Something about the rainbow finish makes it seem less threatening. Even when I flip it open switchblade style, the only comments people make are how cool it looks. Even girls get drawn to it and ask to see it. So I totally disagree about it not being a manly knife. Other knives scare girls away, this one gets them interested. Can't get "manlier" than attracting women!

Bryfry you are going to make me drool if you keep posting pics of that damascus. However Visa will probably thank you if you do.:D

I have really enjoyed my rainbow leek and have found it is "acceptable" more easily in work places because it doesn't present as violent looking as any other knife you can name. Right now, after several months use, it doesn't open as quick as it once did but is as sharp as ever. Easy to cut yourself with. I mainly use it to slice apples and other similar fruits/veggies. I saw on another thread that mineral oil was the only lube to use for food-use blades, so I think I'll try that to get it as smooth opening as it once was. I clean it with alcohol swabs after each use and the titanium has stood up perfectly, and I expect that it will survive the mineral oil as well. I got mine on this forum and it is supposedly a blem but looks absolutely perfect. One of the best buys I've ever made. Don't worry about it being or not being masculine - I'm sure you're man enough to enjoy it without feeling like putting on a dress.
