Rainy day dreams

Well of course I had plans of making a trek out today to look around for some morels but we are getting a heck of a storm and have been since early this morning. Maybe I can get out some time this week. I had planned on getting out and testing out the BK9 and 2 for a bit while I was at it. Now I guess I must sit here and just fondle them for a bit. Maybe I will make a sandwich with the 9 or something. Anyone else getting soaked today?
 
Yeah, raining and windy here. Tornado warnings last night. One spotted about 10 miles away, woo hoo.
 
It's been a foul couple of days here too. Been playing in the house mostly.
 
Poured down rain here today, too. It was a nice drive around seeing a lot of wind damage to the trees though :eek:
 
Hmm... 92 and sunny where I am. Just had to turn down an invitation to go for a short hike with Myker because I work from 2-11pm today. I'll take a rainy or a hot day hiking over a good day working.
 
Sorry to heat about your weather woes... im in so cal at the moment. 90 degrees and sunny... as always. I think the citizens of LA would frown on hunting for morels and testing a bk around here tho.
 
Alabama suffered 7 dead from tornadoes yesterday/last night.

That's obviously a big-time bummer, but having been born and raised in So Cal, I'd take every day here like yesterday over what you guys are describing weather-wise today there. I will always say that California is a great place to be *from*, even with the awesome weather and geography. I'm surprised they still allow you to even *think* about knives or guns out there! :eek:
 
Pretty funny though I posted this and low and behold the clouds disappeared a the sun cam out. The wind dried a lot up so the wife and I took the boy for a walk and he wouldn't have any of it. He did however play in the grass. We had a good time but no knife play. Maybe sometime this week though. I really want to get out into the woods. I am just itching to practice a few traps, find some mushrooms, and play around with a slingshot. Made a pretty simple one the other day and boy did it sling a tennis ball. I want to make a good one out of leather and paracord for stones. I was actually getting the balls about 60 or so yards pretty accurately, kinda like a pop fly though. I want to work on the low dangerous throws and accuracy.
 
we managed to get some mountain biking done early today before the showers hit...it was freaking cold though. my buddy had a minor crash and landed close to a rattler...an hour later i was showing them the remains of my bamboo snow shoes for the esee contest and i hear a rattle and in a split-sec jumped back...who knew i had cat-like reflexes :D

it's really coming down now over here though.
