I know this don't belong here but this is the basically only forum I really visit often. So I wanted to share with you guys!

I had today off and decided to spend it fishing with my nephew. Well I took a pic of a few of the fish we caught. It was a good day.

These are mine and his WHOOPER is below.

Looks like a good time! Any day fishing beats a day at work for sure.

Well, as long as you were carrying a traditional knife with you, I'm good with it. ;)

What kind of bass is that? Redeye or shoal bass? There aren't any like that in this part of Texas that I am aware of so I don't offhand recognize it. Your nephew did well with that broken back minnow lure! Congrats!

As a kid, I always had luck taking bass with a broken back rapala. Nice way to spend the day!

What can be more traditional than that:thumbup: except maybe cleaning it with your tracitional fishing knife.

I had a Winchester multi tool in Schrade sheath on my belt, a new taylor brand tanto army PE knife clipped on my right pocket and a Victorinox Rally in my right pocket. I was well prepared! :D

Any day fishing is good, especially when you can take a young'n with you.
I will never forget the day my son caught his first fish. It still makes me smile just thinking about it

Looks like a great time. Anytime you can take a young family member fishing is a good day.

Awesome! My 11 year old nephew is my fishing buddy (and aspiring pocketknife collector) also.
Anytime you can get the kids to unplug the electronic toys and get out in the fresh air you've done them an enormous favor.

I need to do that with my nephew soon before he goes off to collage! Looks like a good time to me!

There's nothing quite so much like balm for the soul as a quiet fishing trip.

Not to meniton you may get a nice fry-up dinner out of it!

My 4 year old son just caught his first trout on Saturday (a small Brook trout). It doesn't get much better than fishing with kids.

I try to spend as much time with him as I can. The 29th of this month he'll be 11 yrs. old so time is flying away. Soon I'll be an old not cool aunt in his eyes :D, so I better enjoy the time with him I can. ;)

My memories of fishing with my grandfather when I was around that age are some of the fondest memories I have of my childhood. I'm sure your nephew will remember that day for a long time. Thanks for sharing!
