We don't get much rain in our area, but today it has been raining almost all day.. Today the mailman came and he had two small packages. I got two Case stockman (late 70's)that I won on the bay..
One of them was absolutely beautiful.Bolsters and blades shined like chrome and it was absolutely spotless inside as well. Should be it was never used.
The second one is almost identical to it, however it was in need of a good cleaning and polishing the bolsters... I don't think it has ever cut much, just looks like it was laying around and no one ever payed much attention to it..
Well after about a half an hour it looks almost as good as the first one.
After I got done with these I decided I would go into the safe and get out the rest of the collection and check on them. No work needed on these, it hadn't been that long since I gave them a once over.
At times I wonder why I keep collecting knives and it hit me. As I sat there fondling them and admiring each one, I just really like slippies... Even if its not being used I still enjoy looking at them every now and then. But the big thing for me is that someday when I'm gone, my son will get my knives, and he will be able to sit around on a rainy day and look at them just like I do..
Or better yet, he could take them out and use them and make memories of his own with them.
Well now its time to go get the user knives and give them a quick once over.
I like the knives I don't use, but the users are the ones that make the memories...
