Well I got the news today. A friend of mine since high school decided to end it over the weekend. He took a few extra doses of sleeping pills and went to sleep for good.

He was a successful guy from outward appearances. Pretty wife (also a friend since HS), good job, money out his ears, etc. - things that a lot of us wish we had in one way or another...

Just goes to show that everyone's got a different take on what's important. Who knows what was going through his head. It appears the fight was too tough for Matt.

I raise my glass to Matt. Let's raise our glasses to life, too, and to those of us who have come to the realization that the glory is in the fight! Let's keep sight of the more important things...which include among other things:

Sorry to hear about your loss. I stopped drinking but I'll raise a glass for him anyway. Take care and God bless.

If even one person learns something or takes away something that changes their life for the better because of your friend's untimely exit, then his life and experiences do count, do have 'meaning', and may actually save another life should the lesson not be lost... But, all the same, I'm sorry that you had to lose a friend and in such a way. :(

You got it...I will include your friend in our list of lost ones that my friends raise our glasses to. Embrace the sadness as well as joy, fot that too...is life. My thoughts are with you. John
