Hi there,

Knife and wilderness enthusiast here :D

I have heard lots of good things about Rajah I/II. It's tri-ad lock, sturdiness, edge retention, etc.

Saying that, has anyone gave it (Rajah I or II) a hard and persistent use? Chopping, batoning, etc. How has it faired?

I like folders b/c they can stay concealed and they are easier to carry. Kukri shape just makes it that much better.
Seems like Rajah can withstand some brute force, though I wouldn't mind hearing more opinions.

I have both the Rajah 1 and 2. The 1 is most likely a bit stronger with its thick solid aluminum sides though I havent used it yet. The 2 is more comfortable in hand with its more sculpted synthetic handle and is still more than plenty strong enough with the steel liners inside.

I tested my Rajah 2 on chopping a 2x4 and it worked very well. I also stabbed it through the side of an old refrigerator six times just for fun. Still locks up like a vault with no blade play whatsoever.

search for the two words Rajah and Test on video.google.com, and you'll see several.

Thanks but I have watched most of those videos. None of those videos talk about persistant use. From those vids I gathered that it's fine choppper and capable wood splitter, though I wanna know how the metal and especially the lock perform after repeated use.

It won't fail.

Hi there,

.

If your a serious WILDERNESS knife user, then you NEED a fixed blade as the expression "pre-broken blade" does fit any and all FOLDERS.

I own many of both and I do carry a folder [ C/S's as well as BM's ] and even do so in the woods.

BUT i carry and use a fixed blade since I know it CANNOT fold .

I am a fan of Bark River, and SO MANY others that I wont even go further.

But my advise is to go with a folder ONLY when you cannot carry/use/display a fixed blade.

btw - I have a R - I and its is pretty hard to break,I agree.

Nobody in their right mind would abuse a Rajah I as it's a collectors piece now and very hard to find. If you do happen to find one you're looking at $300+.

Any hard use test you'll find are with the Rajah II...it's solid. I own both.
