Rajesh is the factory manager for HI in Nepal. Many of you saw him in the shop video. He is the fellow speaking in Nepali and pointing at the container of adhesive with a knife.

Yangdu tells me Rajesh has typhoid, and has been out for a few weeks. Many of us in the developed world have forgotten the horror of typhoid, and the destruction it has caused. Modern sanitation and antibiotics have largely conquered it in developed nations. The linked Wikipedia article can give some background on this disease.


Rajesh is currently on sick leave from HI, so his family's needs are being met. Charity is not needed. However, he may benefit from your good wishes, however you care to give them.

Kami Sherpa is currently handling the management functions on the Nepal side.
 
I hope he recovers from his illness and is back doing what he wants to do in good time. Diseases are horrific. Here's to hoping he has the pure force of will to outlast it. Is he still sick, Howard? If yes, then we just had a fire a few nights ago, so, while I am a firm believer in science alone, I nonetheless send smoke via my parents firepit to you Rajesh, while I don't know you, I would be honored to meet you, even indirectly through the forum, as any friend of anyone from the Cantina/ Himalayan Imports is a friend of mine, as I am a friend to them, should they ever require my assistance.
