Pleeezzze somebody hurry up and grab that thing! I'm getting weak. I think I might have just enough loot, must resist, have other required needs.

Are food and gas really important?

Are food and gas important? Well of course they are. Are they more important than being armed with enough khuk when a dracula hulk jumps you on a dark night as you fumble with your car keys? Will you really be thinking about a couple of pizzas and some cheap beer as the creature's hateful glowing ember eyes slowly wink out as it runs itself up to the hilt of blessed piece of Nepali steel, your arms shaking as you hold the corpse of the monstrosity from your body as the last gasp of fetid putrid breath gasps from its jagged maw?

I think I'd go with the cool khuk, bro:)

I thought that's what my 45's are for. I figure to use the khuk's to chop them up for the pot.
I just know I'm going on a watch list for even thinking that. I think your right though and for what it's worth your not helping me one bit.
I'm trying to stay kind of traditional in my Khuk addiction but that's nice enough to sway me from that plan too.

Winner, winner chicken dinner! Congrats Tartan. Way to double down for a couple beautiful blades.

And my wife thanks you very much for taking them off the menu, I'm good once again until probably tomorrow.

Tartan George:

Thanks for saving me from another expenditure. I've been staring at that Putali Ang Khola, but I was busy this afternoon and you posted before I saw it. I hope you sent Yangdu an email because these DOTDs go to whoever emails her first, not whoever posts first on the forum. If you haven't emailed, do it ASAP.

The Manakamana Special is a great knife. I have one almost exactly like this one with a slightly darker wood handle. It's been described as a sirupate on steroids, but really it combines the best qualities of several different models.

Good info, I didn't know that about sending the email. I've got everything I tried for but I guess I did email shortly there after so I guess I got lucky.

Always better to send the email first and then post in the thread :). Also helps if you already have a draft emailing waiting to go where you just need to copy and past in what you want to get

Spoken like a true shark;)

Dear Bawanna and David f99,

Glad to have contributed to your matrimonial harmony-at least until the next tempting DOTD!

I just came back from an Easter break late last night (UK time) and simply could not resist those two-so very different. I caught the HIV last summer and currently have about 25 kukris to date. I try and now limit myself to one a month.(failed again!)

One thing I did not realise was the suggestion that lodging a purchase via the Forum did not count as a firm offer without a separate followup e-mail. In the past I have always followed the pattern of direct e-mail first, then confirm on forum.

On this occasion, due to just coming back from a break, I did not send the direct e-mail first. I have now done so, and hopefully will still snag the pair.

I have suggested to Yangdu that she clarify this point on the forum to avoid any future confusion.Obviously anyone claiming to buy and then not following up with payment rightly deserve to lose the purchase, but a little clarity on this point would be no bad thing.

Incidentally, is the HI virus exclusively male-specific, or do we also have a female following? just wondered.

Regards and greetings from the UK, where knife laws are so restrictive that the carrying of any fixed blade is prohibited (with very narrow and specific exceptions-chefs , fishermen etc) and even a folder cannot exceed a 3 inch length. Collecting HI Kukri therefore , really is a tribute to the art form of the blades, as it is virtually impossible to use them legally outside of your own property.

TARTAN GEORGE

Thank you for giving a nice home for the Putali AK and Manakamana speical, George
