Ray is certainly a Super Individual. At the Shows and Forging Demos that I have seen him he has always been very generous with his time and knowledge. Thanks for the heads up on the Article.

while i STILL(!) havent gotten my copy yet, my knife is pictured in the article.
its on the first page of the article,i think its the bottom knife pictured. the one with nat. micarta scales.
I have a Joeker and it does have a rustic look. Although Ray makes a few variations of the Joeker. One thing they all have in common is a super sharp cutting edge.
Actually it was Blues who introduced me to Ray's work. I called Ray up and we chatted and I had him make me a custom necker. I love that knife. I just recently did a trade that netted me a L'il Blue Damascus necker, so I can say I have 2 Ray Kirk knives. Still not as many as Blues, esp. if anyone falls for that accepting donations spiel ;-)
There will be a Raker WIRK Hook knife given away in the "Win-a-Blade" contest. All you have to do is have your entry card stamped by a participating Donor. These are all mostly located at the back of the room. In the Blade Magazine, the table holders that are in BOLD are all donors of knives to be given away. I will be at 18-N and be happy to stamp your card.
Good Luck and hope to see you.
