Can anyone tell me when Ralph Bone start imprinting the small bone on his custom made knives?

Am considering purchasing a couple of Ralph Bone and Enedino De Leon knives. In your opinion which are the most collectable models for each of these makers. Might offer an opinion on G.W. Stone's knives as well.

Considering all are dead, I'd say pretty much anything you buy will be collectable, to some extent, especially their fighters, daggers, and Bowies. Their styles are very similar, and remind me somewhat of Harvey Draper knives. I'm not terribly familiar with Stone's knives, or the man. You might look for integrals by Ralph Bone, or folders. Also, Ralph was an expert engraver, though I don't believe I've ever seen one of his knives with engraving, other than maybe someone's initials. Doesn't mean they don't exist. Something to look for. I know that sometime around 1970, Ralph, and his protege, Enedino De Leon, made 24 folding knives for Crosby, Stills, and Nash, most of which were gifted to the road crew. You'd probably have to know someone to get your hands on one of those, but they do(or did) exist.

I considered Enedino De Leon a friend, and I have a couple of his knives. I'd put them up against any similar Randall-made models, without hesitation. Good luck in your search, you've picked 3 very good makers.

Thanbks for your reply to my question. Have you ever heard of a Knife Maker by the name of Ken Hoy. his maker stamp is K Ho4?

I've heard of Ken Hoy, but that was long ago, and I can tell you nothing of his knives. You might have better luck in the Bernard Levine's Knife Collecting sub-forum.

I have this Bone folder I received from my Dad many years ago. I sent a picture to Enedino De Leon in a letter and he stated he made have made this knife. I have some of his knives too. I don't know if this is one of the "24" talked about earlier. It has a serial number stamped on the obverse side. Any information about this knife would be helpful. Thanks for looking.
