I am including this write up here in the Custom Knife area because I believe it warrants it. Ralph Selvidio is one of the finest, if not the finest makers out there today and in this particular knife he has pushed the edge of the envelope with regard to design. Ralph only makes 8-10 knives per year so that not only adds to his mystique, but also to the quality and creativity of his final product.

This particular knife uses cross bars in a unique way: one of them comes out of the backbar to form the match to the twist damascus one coming out of the bolster on the other side. Additionally, the George Werth damascus blade is exemplary, again with Selvidio carving apparent on the blade.

While not apparent in this pic, the backbar is heavily carved and included a womans head carved in gold. Selvidio is a quiet individual who lets his creations do his talking!! Pls let me know your thoughts about Ralph and this beauty.

Beautiful knife Marc. If I'm not mistaken a while back you sold an equally breathtaking Selvidio knife. More than once you've opened my eyes to some of the great artistic knife makers. Really enjoyed this pic, thanks for posting it.

If the description on Bud Angelo's web site is correct I believe That Ralph has passed away. I guess I missed hearing about it at the time. I own a beautiful Rattler with gold eagle inlay and a magnificent set of damascus and details. Does anyone know more about the (apparently late) Ralph Selvidio?
