Ralph Turnbull passed on in June. He came up with the idea to use rare earth magnets in knives. Spyderco used his idea and had him design the T-Mag. A nice medium sized knife for light duty. Made in US, nice blade, S30V steel, carbon fiber covers, chammfered edges. All in all a sweet package. Didn't sell well, mostly due to poor initial marketing. Many of us picked it upon close out for $50. It immediately showed up in gun shows for $150. It was easier to sell when the buyer could see how nice it was in hand rather than on-line. I met him twice at shows in the last 5 years. He was a nice guy and real pleased to hear his Spydeco knife was appreciated. Anyone else like Ralph's work?

Ralph was the maker of one of my first custom knives. Heck of a maker and a good man. RIP, Ralph.

Got a picture?

In his customs he had an eye for color and his blades had nice tips.

R.I.P. Mr. Turnbull, thanks for your unique designs

I like the way there is hardly any straight line on the Tmag edge and how the grid goes straight to the tang, no notch :) Spyderco USA was in top form for Tmag.
