RAM first production question

I just recieved a RAM. Blade is marked 1 of 500 First Production.

Were all the first 500 marked 1 of 500, or is it sequential?

If it is sequential, should I care that it is #1? I bought it to use it--the stamp makes no difference to me.

Also, what is the best way to deal with the clip? Does bending it out a bit work well?

Thanks

Yes, the 1st 500 all have 1 of 500 marked on them.
As far as the clip, yeah, just pull up on it for a minute
and see how it feels. If it's still to tight do it again untill
it feels right to you.

It's been my EDC since I got it. I just can't stop flippin this thing.
Kershaw and G&G Hawk nailed it. Enjoy!!

That is just too easy...

Hey Bruce, good job on the RAM purchase! I love mine and the pocket clip gets better with use. Better too tight than too loose!

BruceWayne: I have both the RAM and the Shallot with 1 of 500 on the blade.
I inquired here on BF before I bought the Shallot, I thought I was about to score the first ONE of 500 but the answer was it was just one of the first 500 made. Oh well at least they still will be good users.
I believe Thomas mentioned that the inscriptions on the blade were done by laser and will not come off.
So far the RAM  and the Shallot  are my two favorite Kershaw knives. ;) :) :D

Edit: Oh, I also had to bend the clip on the RAM, between the strong clip and the great traction the scales have it was just too hard to draw from either my front or back pockets, a little bend and I'm a happy camper!

I wrapped a screwdriver with a towel & stuck it in between the clip & scale. Held it there for a few minutes. If it wasn't just right, there was enough room to use my thumb or finger & set it to where I wanted it. I did that with the RAM & both Grooves (They're the same clip).

I'd be careful about pulling too much on the clip, it is only set in aluminum as far as I can see (aluminum is fairly soft compared to steel, and the threads might strip).

I take clips off to adjust them.

And wow, that thing is the stiffest clip I've ever seen. To keep it comfortable I need almost a 1/8th inch gap between the clip and handle. All my other clips sit on the handle scales.

Thanks for all the info!

Yes, the clip is so tight as to be unusable. I will likely pull it off the knife to adjust it...
