mostly because of a guy named Bill Martino, who had to leave....

and then,

a guy named Steve Ferguson, who goes the extra mile, and pays for the gas to go there,

and,

a whole buncha folks who contribute and sustain the effort to put a Nepali kid into a Latvian Medical School, and who are actually surprised when they win a random drawing.

Sometimes the world is a good place to be.:)

Congratulations for those who won.

Better luck next time (because I know there will be a next time) to the others, including me. :)

But... what will happen when Ram will graduate  no more raffles? Or will that good cause will stay to raise money for another good cause? The Bill Martino foundation?

Congrats too all who won and thanks for opening your wallets so Ram can continue getting his degree. Ram will be one helluva Dr. in many ways and Nepal will benefit greatly from Ram's services!  :D

I think I'm destined to always lose the raffle.
It's all those pics of juicy steel.
If it were just a "mystery prize" maybe Id win some day...

I was happy to participate and not expecting to win. Lo and behold, I did. But I like the karma Mr. Ferguson contributes to this very worthwhile project. I can't help but think Uncle Bill smiles on this effort.

Same here:) I thought I was the only one with that kind of luck. That's why I'd rather work at a casino instead of play at a casino.

Thank you all for your support to Ram.

I keep hoping Bruise will donate a Pan Knife to the cause. :D

Steve will always take donations - Ram's expenses keep coming in, but it's not convenient to have raffles too frequently. Off-cycle donations get thrown into the pot for the next tuition check.

After Ram graduates, maybe another good cause will come along. Karma seems to work that way.

I was winner #1 I think in the first raffle, winning a sweet BDC, and later won a beautiful 20" Kobra that Steve had worked over in another raffle, but over the past 2 or 3 raffles have had no luck at all, even when I bought extra tickets!

But I need another knife like I need a paper rectum, (to put it politely. :D) and don't regret a penny of support. (Although that backwards sword with the wrapped scabbard! )

I can't think of a better cause. I've often thought that there is a really great ongoing charity here, helping to educate poor Nepali students as Doctors, so they can go back and help their countrymen. This builds a chain of goodness that will just keep propagating on and on...
