RAM with one spring?

In an effort to reduce the thumb wear caused by the lock on the RAM, I removed one of the springs that engages it. It still seems plenty strong and has reduced the effort required to operate it. Has anyone else tried this?

Hmmm, that IS interesting. Please keep us posted on how this works out for you, because I too find the lock a bit firm.

I am surprised nobody else has tried this. Glad I was able to offer something to the forum.
I have been carrying mine like this for about a week with no ill effects. I did a few spine wacks and made sure it would not slip open on its own but all seems to be a-ok.

Hope to hear some feedback from others who try it.
It certainly seems to improve an otherwise fantastic knife in my opinion.

Take care.

i have an odd question for those on the forums. can you take a look at the RAMs you own and count how many screws (pivot excluded) hold each scale in place?

i have 3 rams now and two have four holes a piece and one only has three. I'm wondering whats up with the one with only three holes?

My 13C26 1910CKT has four scale screws per side. Which ones are yours missing?

4 on each side. You sure you aren't "missing" one under the clip or something? :p

ill post pics this weekend. the missing screws are towards the end of the handle. on two of mine, there are a pair of screws holding the scale in here. on one there is only the top one.

Looks like you might have a rare one there, Slade! If the scale isn't drilled for the 4th screw, I'd leave it as is and put it away. Besides, it gives you another reason to buy another one!
