Are the knives in the movies above any good, (production ones not the handmade ones) if they are not, what knife would be more or less the same style except more superior quality. I was thinking of a Chris reeves Project but is there any other knife, Buckmaster also,

Hunting? Don't be a wise guy, what do you hunt with a knife?

Name it!

Edge, Cris Reeve's P1 are an excellent knife.
I have a original Rambo ll "The Mission"
and it is a very nice Custom knife. It would not be my first choice however.

IMHO I think the Crain Multipurpose Combat System (Knife made for "Predator") is FAR superior or the Life Support l from "Commando" as well. Check them out,
they are really heavy duty and one person is not going to break one.
IMHO

Edge,
Jack Crains email address is:
jackcrainknives@altavista.com
Phone is: 817.599.6414
His web site is not up yet.
He tells me it will be soon.
He also made three knives for "Predator"
1) the Hunter, 2) MCS that's the one Arnold mostly used and 3) the Predator Machete
they are awesome and I would not hesitate for a second to take them over anything in to a REAL survival or Combat/Survival situation.
I also have a Brend Mod. 2 that is 9.5 " that
would be an excellent Combat/Survival knife as well. It can do anything you ask it too w/ in reason of course !

Hope that's helpful.
The Rambo's are NOT as BEEFY and built as well as the Crain's IMHO.

A quick word of advice on Jack Crain. I had an MCS on order from him for almost 4 years before I got it. When I placed the order, I was promised a wait time of 4 months. It was a decent hollow handled knife. But I would only send a small fraction of the money up front. Also, pay by credit card, that way you have some insurance if Mr.Crain hasn't changed his ways.

I thought that the knives from Rambo 2 and 3 were made of 420 J2 stainless steel. If I am right, then they are nice to look at, byt not much better than knives made of plastic!!! 420 J2 is junk steel for knives. If you do want the Rambo 2 or 3 as a user, check to see what steel it is first.

I'll take a 420 J2 blade over a plastic one any day. It may be soft steel, but it's still steel. It will cut rope, gut game, and whittle wood. It will lose its edge quickly and take a new one just as fast. Sure, it's the low man on the steel totem pole -- but a knife made of 420 is still a knife.

Well, that is true Razoredj. I think my real point is that if Edge is looking for a real using bowie, his money would be best spent elsewhere. But if ya like the thing that much, there ain't nuttin' wrong with getting one! Lord knows I have bought things because they looked good, even though I knew I could get something else that worked better
