I am too much an engineer. I must have a perceived need for a specific knife before I buy it. I am in danger of running out of perceived needs.

But today it occurred to me that I do not yet have a knife specifically designated for attacks by rabid Wombats, so there you go.

As far as I know no Wombat has ever been seen in the wild in Alabama, but a man's got to be prepared, doesn't he?

It could HAPPEN TOMORROW!!!!!
I'm sure our Australian Hogs will have a suggestion, but I'm thinking if I'm staring down a rabid, crazed Wombat, I'd reach for a Butaniku!!
From what I've heard, the very sight of that could put the rabid critter into cardiac arrest! :D

Mike,

A creative mind can always find a "need". :D Just ask us for help if you run out of ideas. ;)

Wombats are gorgeous creatures. They are also built like core filled brick sh*thouses. Hit one in your car and it's like running into a refrigerator.

Clearly at least a Busse AK-47, to be sure you can stand off a bit. I'd suggest a MOAB as an alternate, but I'm not sure it's fair to use a knife that outweighs your attacker.

It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but that tree between and just behind the two of them is over fifty feet tall.

When the wombat apocalypse finally does happen it will be nice to know we're all prepared. I think the only way to truly defeat them will be to cut off their food supply which consists primarily of grass, herbs and other plant life. May I suggest some sort of machete style blade or perhaps some hedge trimmers?

That's what Busse needs to do next: the Busse Nuclear Hedge Trimmer - like a cross between a War Boar and a scythe.
