I noticed this while fondling and oiling my new Ranch Boss, there's what appear to be shims in between the secondary blades and the springs? I don't see one between the main blade and spring.

What do you guys think? Does anyone else have one and could they see if theirs has them. Hopefully the rep can chime in.

Thanks for looking,

Post this over on the Traditional sub forum. You will get a lot of response over there.

I was hoping the Cold Steel rep could shed some light, I'll give it a couple days and post it over there.

Unless I am mistaken, those are catch pieces. It allows you to pair a different spring and blade thickness.

Thanks, never heard of that. I'll have to do some research...

I was under the impression that was a catch piece, but I'll do some digging and try to find out more
Thanks

Thanks for looking in to it. From what I've read, catch bits would be in between the liner and the blade to allow a thinner blade on a thicker spring. These are in between the blade and the spring, attached (soldered?) to the spring. You can see it best in my second pic the curved end of the shim makes it easier to see. I haven't measured it, but it looks to be about 0.015" or so thick.
