Randal #23

I have the opportunity to buy a Randall #23, used but spotless. Apparently never actually used, carried or sharpened. The guy wants $400.00 for it. I have absolutely no experience with Randal knives. I've handled it and it's a beautiful and very strong feeling knife but the $400.00 price tag seems a little steep. Any opinions...?

If it is a Randall #23 then yes, it is a good deal if it is in new condition. Do a google search for Randall knives and you will find all the information you need on them.

I have not heard of Randal.

For your reference, the current catalog price for a standard model #23 is $340 - not including the 5-year wait. Price seems about right - they're usually at least $50 above catalog price whenever sold in the secondary market.
