Hi Guys and Gals

Those lucky owners of either of these beautiful knives-the would like to ask you to post some interesting hands on experience with these blades and foremost please POST SOME PICTURES! Give us something to drool over :)

Especially I am very interested to see variety of customisations on these models!

Many thanks

Moderators of Bladeforums, please: is there any chance to help me with this thread and move it to the special Randall subforum? Maybe it's more suitable, rather than General Discussion? What you think guys?

Thank You

Serious....

Simply start a new thread in that sub forum and if you really think it's necessary close this one

Yes it is, nickel silver double forward guard, desert ironwood commando handle with nickel silver radius butt cap. I have carried it a few times, however this is a beast. I have more info in the collectors forum, sub forum for Randall's. This model only comes in 01 forged tool steel.

moved.

Very nice! When I handled the big bowies I was surprised at the weight...I thought they would be heavy and they weren't.

Desert Ironwood would be also my favourite choice on handle, but also maybe black micarta....(nickel silver forward guard and duralumin flanged butt cap)

Is there any special reason why are both of these large blades offered only in O1 steel and not in stainless too? Curious to know, Thank you!

Do you own any of these models please? If yes, could you please post some pictures? Well I guess, there is some significant weight behind Smithsonian Bowie, as it's chunk of steel, but Randall claim to have mastered exact proper balance on each of their model, so weight is well distributed on each blade I guess. I was never so lucky to have a chance to get hold on any of RMK's, (yet:)) hope time will come

The Thorp Bowie is not very heavy--feels good in the hand.

I was at the Atlanta gun and knife show a couple of months ago. I was lucky to find a dealer there who had one and I handled it there. I do not own a Bowie.
