Randall and Martin knives

I notice there are many similarities between Randall knives and Martin knives in model styles. Is this just coincidence or is there a business relationship between the two makers?

Martin knives has a replica series. They even have an SOG Recon version. One of the dealers on the auction site is throwing in a Randall knife case to go.
