AG Russell -- Current wait for a factory Randall from Orlando FLA is about five years, maybe seven. I've been seeing Randalls on KnivesLiveTV, Smokey Mt. Knife Works. They're collectable vault items running circa $1000 to $3000 USD depending on what you find.

AG Russell seems to offer the more popular patterns. Of course you forgo any sort of custom work -- pommels, guards, custom sheath, engraving. I don't have five years; I've wanted a Randall since my buddy in high school bought a Model 1, back about 1964. I'm looking for a 5" / 7" drop point, brass pommel / single guard, jimping over the spine, stag w/ some spacers. Model 1 Fighter or Model 12 Little Bear Bowie . . .

Wish the Mod. 1 featured a brass pommel cap, single guard.

The other option is black micarta. I like the dive knife, Model 16, 7" blade --

Anyone ever deal w/ AG Russell ???

Sounds like this should be in Feedback.

As for an answer to your question. I've not handled any of the Randalls that A.G. sells. His company however IS my favourite knife company. They're sticklers on quality items. If they don't feel like it's good stuff then they won't offer it.

They're also sticklers for customer satisfaction. If you're not happy with it and they find out (even if it's just a complaint somewhere on the forums) they usually WILL find out, reply and offer a fix/replacement/money back. Their customer satisfaction garantee is pretty much the only one of it's kind in the world today.

You shouldn't have to feel hesitant in dealing with A.G.'s company whatsoever....they're the best and they've been doing it for longer than ANYONE else.

I've dealt with them several times and was always pleased with the outcome. I've sent knives back because I didn't like the way they felt in hand- no problem. Had a knife with a very slight flaw (but it was an expensive WH) and they were willing to do whatever would make me happy (they didn't have an exact duplicate) return, exchange, whatever- my choice.

You can't really go wrong dealing with them- of course, someone will be along shortly to tell you that sometimes you can beat their price, but probably not so much with Randalls.

AG Russel.......Can't go wrong.

If you get anything from him you are not satisfied with, he will exchange it, refund it, or otherwise make you satisfied.

He is a regular on this forum, and I have always found him to be responsive and well spoken.

+1 To what everyone else said. My mom bought me one of his 3 inch lockbacks in carbon fiber for my birthday (She's awesome) and I could not be happier with the knife, packaging and shipping. especially considering the knife costs only 48 dollars. A.G Russell is the man!

I've bought 6 or 7 Randall made Knives from AG Rusell he's a good Man to deal with. The wait time for a randall from the Factory is about five years last time I checked. It cost's you a few more sheckels to buy a randall from AG Russell. but you dont have the long wait he put in, to get the knife for his customers.

Got my Randall from AG! Beautiful knife! And they re not priced that crazy!

I'm old, retired, and not broke. I buy Randall Made from AG because I don't want to wait 5 years. ;)

Got this Model 14 a few years back. What a great knife!

I would not hesitate to order from AG Russell. Go to his website and read the guarantee under the "About Us" button. I've ordered from AG and had no problems. I have a couple of AGR designed folders and have been very pleased with them.

AGR also is a regular here on Bladeforums.

Echo everyone else AG is great; have a Randall from there; got it at a good price and no wait.

Can't do better than dealing with Mr Russell. Everything about him and his company is beyond reproach.

Great customer service from A.G. Russell.

I got a belt knife pouch from them, that secured by pressing a hole in the leather over a stud. After several years the stud broke off. I probably bashed into something and broke it. I called them up to order a new one, and when I mentioned what had happened to the one that I had, they would not let me buy a new one. They insisted in replacing it under warranty.
