Randall Gilbreath knife repair?

Hi all, I'm new here but looking for some advice on refinishing a Randall Gilbreath knife I have acquired. For the most part the blade is in good shape but the bushings could use a once over. I have heard that even if contacted, Mr. Gilbreath is not the most reliable on repairs. I would really like to have someone give it the once over and tighten up the bushings and whatnot. Is this something I could do on my own? I have found many sites that offer the parts I just am not sure how easy of a job this is. Any advice would be great and I apologize if this is int he wrong section! Thanks.
