Long ago, in a distant land, I adopted a Gilbreath ti frame folder Seems to me it was back in 2000, or even 1999. I believe these were made a decade or so before that and even before the tactical term was an everyday buzz word. The matte finished guy the first and tip down carry, the highly polished example tip up and a recent adoption. The lock on the polished example jeweled as well. Definitely the same batch(es)?
If anyone has a good bio an timeline, I'm all eyes and ears. Somewhere out there is one of his chute knives that would make a terrific stocking stuffer for my mantle. I know he was grinding for someone else early on and that later in the years collaborating with some of the folders. I'm sure there are many that collect certain makers and it would be easy to get sidelined scooping up all I can find but these two may be the only pieces from him I'll ever own (and be happy with that) I should have gotten a chute knife when they were more common. I've only ever seen about five examples of the plain ti frames and they were all just a little different from each other. The tip up polished piece also has a thong hole.
So, the tip up or tip down question is answered for me because I can easily change my mind. Excuse the fingerprints and ancient camera.
Gilbreath lore would be appreciated to help expand his background/bio.
Cheers
