Looking through the August issue of Blade & on page 11 a couple of knives caught my eye. Checked out the website listed but can't find any reference to these knives. I can see that the blades are ATS-34 but would like some more info & specs. Anyone know anything about Randall King Knives or these 2 knives in particular? Thanks for any info. :)

I do not know what these knives are like, but I thought I recognized them when I first saw them. Then I realized that they look very much like the Paragon X-O-Lite. There is a very good reason for this, Randall King is the designer of the X-O-Lite.

The linerlock X-O-Lite was not a great knife. The lock was thin and flexed too easily. I don't know if the Randall King knives are/will be better, but I hope so. In the pictures they look more solid.

Thanks Keith! Since in the ad it states - "Visit our booth at the 'Blade Show'", I figured maybe these knives premiered there & someone may have handled them.

They were at Blade, I got a chance to stop at their booth. They didn't look bad at all, but they were auto-only, so they're only targeting a small demographic. I don't really have much to say about them to be honest, they were nice but they just didn't do anything for me. At that price point I'd rather get a UMS or a Pro-Tech.

Just FYI, Randall King made most of the knives for the movie Last of The Mohicans. Dan Winkler is more famous and got more press for it but I think King made more of the knives.

We have met them and they are Great guys! We are setting up one of the first orders of there VERY NICE Auto's. They are priced at a amazing price for the quality! We will set up a section on the site and start taking orders for the first shipment! Any questions, feel free to email me. paul

Thank you very much! Lifter, thanks for the info - I read that he also worked on the knives in 'The Crow' movie and somewhere I came across some pictures of custom knives he made but I can't find it now. Roadrunner, I'll check out some of those Protechs, too! I like the black anodized Godson with the maple burl inlay but right now it would be a strreeetttcch for my budget! TDE - will be checking out your site for more info & specs on those King knives!

I think you'll really like the Pro-Techs. I was very impressed with the ones I saw at Blade, plus they offered me a great military discount! The 'Magic Release' was very cool. The Pro-Tech representative told me he knew a guy who convinced everyone where he worked that it was voice activated! He would say "OPEN" and activate the release, then let them try. It sounded like a great trick, all in good fun of course.
