Randall "Kit" Knife or not

I traded for this knife about 35 years ago. It came with a Randall sheath but it has long been replaced by one I made.

The man I traded said it was a Bushmaster. I have used the knife over the years thinking it was Randall Made. However a few years back another man said it was a kit knife because of the recessed nut.

Anyway here it is, in all it's glory.

I believe it's a legit Randall Model 19 Bushmaster from the blade tip to the last spacer at the hilt. To my knowledge, Randall never made a leather handle with that shape or an aluminum buttcap with that shape. Most kit knives were identified with a "kit" or "K" marking on the blade, but some had no marking at all. I don't think you'll ever know for sure if it started out life as a Model 19 out the shop door and was then modified (for whatever reason), or it was a kit knife from the get-go.

Best,
