I have several Guy Clark CDs...and this is one of my favorite songs that he does.

I've seen him in person before, he's a really talented individual. What's even more impressive is he makes his own guitars.

The first time I heard that song was at a Guy Clark concert at Gruene Hall (Texas' oldest dance hall) a few years ago. Needless to say, being the knife Knut I am, I was blown away by the song.

The best songs, (imho) are the ones written from personal experience.
