Randall Knives – A Reference Book: Written to provide collectors of Randall Made™ Knives with a comprehensive guide to help approximate the age of knives already owned, or knives considered for future purchase. A reference book for Randall knife collectors and enthusiasts, this is not a pricing guide. 8 ½" x 11" hardcover format with 250 pages consisting of 22 chapters, including more than 250 full color photographs.

Foreward by Mike Silvey, who wrote: "...This book is the long awaited answer to the Randall collector’s wish. Going through this book I am astounded by the amount of data the authors have been able to compile on each and every aspect of Randall knives. There are pages of discussion about sharpening stones; more on sheath snaps and Randall markings. The authors did a totally thorough and exhaustive historical study and analysis of the details that make each Randall knife unique. They have presented the information in a most interesting and readable fashion. The facts and chronology are supported by photos that are a joy to visit. This is a book that will be used by collectors both new and advanced, a book that will not sit on your shelf. I predict the dust jacket will soon be ruined and discarded and the pages will be dog-eared and worn. You will use this book time and again and it will answer your questions. This book will be a treasured addition to your library and, if you can own but one book on Randall Made™ Knives, then this is the book..."

Payment of $64.95 per book via check or money order should be made to: Sheldon Wickersham - P.O. Box # 841, Bigfork, MT. 59911 - credit card orders can be placed through the Blue Star Knives website at www.bluestarknives.com - or via Paypal using the swickersham@sbcglobal.net address.

The books are here, and moving out at a rapid pace! Thanks guys, your kind words and support have helped us realize that all the work behind self-publishing a book on Randall Made knives was well the effort. :D

To that end, if anyone reading here is interested in self-publishing their own book on knives, feel free to contact us with any questions about the process that you might have. If we can help answer your questions, we will.

Thanks again, stay sharp,

S & E Wickersham

As the recipient of a free damaged book from Melvin-Purvis, I can attest to the fact that it is a very nice book indeed. Prior to receiving this book, I had a very limited knowledge of Randall Knives, but this book has piqued my curiosity. From an outsider perspective, it appears that the authors have definitely done their homework. I think anyone who is a fan of Randall Knives would find it to be a useful reference book indeed, as well as for anyone wanting to find out more information about Randall Knives.

Thanks again for the freebie, Melvin-Purvis!

Thanks Suicy, glad ya like!

The books are selling nicely now with over 25% of the available copies sold in the first 65 days!

We aren't going to do a second printing of this book, so if you think that you, a family member, or friend with an interest in Randall Made knives may want a copy now, for future reference, or future resale...then ya may want to 'get one now' before they're gone...

Thanks in advance guys, and for those that helped make this project such a success...

Just wanted to bring this one back up for discussion - we're just a few books shy of 50% sold now, this in the first 10 months. Reviews have been solidly good, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support :)

Thanks again to all that have helped making this project, and our new 3rd edition Randall Timeline 'Quick Reference Guide' as well, a smashing success

Stay sharp,

Shel

Just wanted to add I've got Shels book on my coffee table, I've had it since last October and it seems that every time I pick it up I find out something new. Wonderfull book Shel, one of these days I'll drop the hammer on one of your time lines.

Dan,

Thanks for your kind words, just don't wait too long on the Timeline purchase as this will likely be our last printing - we've heard that there has been some confusion amongst collectors because the size format is the same between the 2nd edition (2004) and 3rd edition (2008).

Also, we can't go to a 'larger than' 12-1/2" x 25" folding/laminated format (because the laminator's machine has a size constraint), and we can't really stuff too much more information onto the document...but, you still have time - of the 1000 copies we received in February, we still have roughly 55% left...

Shel
