Well guys, I'll tell ya that we (thankfully) avoided getting burned out as the fires approached to within a mile of our home here in San Diego...

While the knives, and other such items of import were ready packed for a quick exit, luckily, we escaped this very close call.

Our hearts go out to those less fortunate than ourselves, and we'll try to put together a RMK 'raffle' here soon, with the proceeds going towards the local fire victims fund.

(We're a little unclear on how to go about doing this, so if anyone here has an idea, please advise)

Initially, we'd thought about offering our RMK 'Timeline', as seen below in our sig line, at a reduced rate for a month, with proceeds going towards the effort...

But, being that we've told our resellers that we wouldn't undersell them (I think A. G. Russell is the last stocking reseller now http://www.agrussell.com/randall/bk-swrtl.html ), we won't.

So, we're tossed between trying to work out whether a RMK raffle knife, 'Timeline' sale proceeds for the month, or a simple cash donation would work best? What do you guys think...is offering a RMK for raffle worth while, or should we just go with the cash donation?

We're knife people, and many people can do more than just a few; besides, someone could score a nice knife here...or not.

(Any advise here from people that have been through similar situations would be greatly appreciated)

Thanks for the emails and PM's too, they meant quite a bit!

Sheldon,

I'm glad to hear you escaped the flames.

But what's a cold, heartless guy like you doing, thinking of giving to those in need? You'll ruin your hard earned reputation.

Next thing you know, you'll be swilling 2% milk and eating Twinkies...

Coonskinner, shaking head sadly.;)
