Does anyone have any information on the SS stamp on the Model #11 Alaskan Skinner. Also, any information on the dates of manufacture of the #7 and the #11.
thanks Padad24al, I have never seen the Double S on any Randall. I have seen the low S and high S but never the S over S. was this a special run or a mistake???
There's a guy by the name of Joe Dorsky who knows as much about Randalls as anyone. He has a website called "Collector of Randall Made Knives". On that site he goes into detail about stainless stampings on Randall knives including the "SS" stamp:
Our own Sheldon also makes reference to this SS stamping in his book on page 196. If you love or have any interest in Randalls at all, you need to read this book.
great information. I checked out the web site and it told me just what I needed to know. I appears that Randall used the Double S for a very short period of time in late 63 to early 64, maybe less than a year. it looks like my #11 is a keeper.
