Well guys,

Edna and I have been toiling hard on our RMK 'Timeline' project, and getting the proofs back from the printer's today, we couldn't be more pleased! We think that'll you be happy too.

The following is an excerpt from an email that was sent out to potential distributors a few days back:

"We just wanted to let you know that we're finishing up a project that we've been working on for some time now, a laminated 'quad-fold' 11x17" full color reference document, titled 'Randall Made Knives, a Timeline - The Quick Reference Guide', and will be offering them for sale soon.

The end product consists of a four column text document on the front side, identifying RMK characteristics over the years, including the sheath makers, sheath rivet use, sheath snaps, sharpening stones, handle materials, spacer stock, blade steel and stamps, compasses, lanyards, lanyard holes, tang nuts, etc...including the approximate years of introduction and general usage dates, along with some clarifying text for each section mentioned.

The reverse side consists of a full-color 'spread sheet' style timeline from 1937 to 2003, sectioned down by the various characteristics, with additional text identifying the years of use for those areas of interest. Also, a reference and credit section, along with copyright info, ISBN registry number, and sales price is included on the front 'text' side as well."…

We'll be sending these off to the laminator Wednesday, and should have them back the following week, just in time for the OKCA show. The sales price will be $20+ S&H for ebay sales, $20 for forum members or through knife show/ distributors.

This timeline 'Quick Reference Guide' was originally going to just be an addendum to the RMK book we're working on, but we've decided that it has enough merit to be published as a 'stand alone' document for now. Our book should be ready for publication no later than end of summer, but we'll announce more on that later.

As such, we've re-upped our gold membership here at BFC...

Thanks for your continued support guys, you're the best!

Sincerely,

Sheldon and Edna
aka 'Melvin'

The print copies were sent to the laminators today, we should have them back by the end of the week...

We're excited to say the least, being that this is the first undertaking of it's kind, IIRC...

Woohoo! We got them express delivered in from FLA today, and are just tickled pink with the way they came out! (I was stressing big time about this guys, you have no idea!)

We'll be listing them for sale in the appropriate BFC 'for sale' forum if our 'Gold membership' has gone through, but, before ya go buying one, I want to throw in a few words first...

So, in no particular order...

We're deep into this financially, so these RMK 'Timeline's are 'for sale'...please don't ask for a free copy, but...if you contributed to the effort, you'll be getting a 'gratis' copy as a thanks...

Otherwise, the price is $20 US, and that includes shipping for fellow forumites...most payment methods will be taken, and if yer foreign, and you want to chip in on the mailing costs, we won't hold that against you...we promise.

What else? Oh yeah, if you want to 'buy in bulk' for your mates, or distribute at a reduced rate (same low rate for all distributors, 10 pc. minimum), let us know via email...that'll save us all time and money...

Speaking of which, we're not gonna make diddly squat off of these timeline's, but we may make enough to publish a book that all us RMK enthusiast's will enjoy...that's the plan anyway.

If I left anything else out, let me know...and lets keep this thread clean, ok?

Thanks guys, we couldn't/wouldn't have done it without your continued support!

Your friends, and fellow Randall Made Knives enthusiast's,

Sheldon and Edna Wickersham
aka 'Melvin-Purvis'

Cool stuff Mel! Maybe I should swing by and pick up a copy.:D Can't wait to see the book too, remember to spellcheck....;) :D

Roger that! In addition to the 34 'pre-order's', we've sold 11 copies in 1 day...out of an initial run of 500, that ain't bad...lol

See ya when I see ya bud, hopefully at the range... :)

Mel

So, you've received your RMK 'Timeline' and the KFC magazine, too cool!

We're just blown away by the positive response we've received so far, I had to go buy self stick envelopes tonight, as glue tastes pretty bad...lol

It looks like we're going to break even on this project at least, and that's a real plus... ;)

Thanks for your support, and we hope you find the timeline useful too!
