Mmmmhhh...that there's real purty. Only 2 more years for my model 14.

two more years? i am completely new to this particular forum and i like the way these Randall knives look however i get the impression that they are few and far between. how does one go about obtaining one of these knives? and how much should one expect to pay for one of those #14

WVHILLS, You can go to the Randall web site at www.randallknives.com, and order a model #14 for $310 and in about 4 years get delvery. Are you can buy one from one of the 50 dealers and pay a little more. The dealer in Arkansas is A.G. Russell, they have a web site, but I am not sure what it is. Go to Google and type in A.G.Russell that should get you there web site.

David: thank you for mentioning us. Next time you want to look for Randalls on our site, just go to http://agrussell.com/randall

all the best,

A. G.

I ordered a custom #26 with black handle and black and brass spacers from them back in April and got it in July. The two customer service ladies I ordered from really knew their stuff and I was very pleased with no surprises. I'll be a customer again.

If any of you folks go to the BLADE show, be sure to visit the AG Russell booth. I thought it was among the best, and there were a lot of really good booths! Great knives, large variety, great display, and helpful people. I still have my original ivorite-handled Russell "Sting", and I recently bought a Randall Model #8 Trout & bird with the great Russell red maple.

Steve, I want to thank you for being a customer. You are in good company. Welcome to the forums. A. G.

Allow me to chime in and say that I also recently ordered a #14 from the A.G. Russell web site. I was surprised to see the relatively short wait for not that much more money. :)

Hi
Hope you guys can help me. I have found a few vintage randall's comming up for auction and was wondering about a ball park figure as to value. I am not shure of the mods. I will have to take my Randall book back to compare but I believe they are either #3 or #4 with 7" blades, Stag handles and finger groves. They are not in mint condition and are well used but not abused condition. They also have the prior owners name factory stamped or etched on the blade. I say stamped or etched because it looks different than the etching on my 30 yr. old #14. They are small sharp block letters. one of the sheaths has the brown buttons with the Randall logo and the other has nickle with the Randall logo snaps. There is also a #16 with sawteeth. It also is well used. All of the blades are scratch from sharpeing and use but there are no nicks and they havent been ground or shape altered. I know you cant put a value on them without actually seeing them but was wondering what a minimum value would be. Also if I get them should I send them back to Randall for cleaning and polishing and removal of the names? Does that detract from the value of a vintage knife if done by the factory?
Thanks for your help
Oh! one more thing one of the Randall logos stamped on the blade looks like it was double struck. Do factory mistakes add to the value on knives?
Thanks again.

Others will have their opinions, but mine are - that you should buy them if you want them and can afford them; and, if it bugs ya, very lightly clean off any blade crud by hand with no more than Semichrome or Flitz if you so desire...just don't add or remove any 'character' scratches or use marks...;)

IMO, there's no need to send them anywhere, i.e. leave the names on, and if needed usually a clean dry cloth will take any dirt or crud off the sheath and stone...a lotta folks wouldn't even do that much.

Lastly, be happy with the find if you're lucky enough to get them :D
