Hey all,

I was looking at the Randall page and came across a knife that really caught my eye. If you go to the Randall site and then to the "EXAMPLE CUSTOMIZATIONS" page, it's the one under the letter "I"

It doesn't look like any other on that page. It's said to have a 7 1/2 inch blade with a #1 shape Guard. At least I think they are referring to the guard and not the blade shape. Maybe I'm just a bit biased cause I like it. If I were going to get one right now, that would be the one I'd want. Just something about it appeals to me.

So..I thought I'd ask and see if anyone owns this knife and if so, to please post some pics of it. Is it no different than a standard 14 except for the guard? What do you think of this knife?
Here's the page I am talking about:

If you have other Randall knives that you are especially proud of, by all means, post pics and info about it. Knives this beautiful should be shown off and bragged about. Maybe one day soon, I'll have one of my own to brag about.

Thank you all for your time and help.
Have a good week.
Larry

Don't have one, but the biggest change is they narrow the tang width a little to fit everything together. Google Randall CDT #14 knife to see more examples. CDT = Cut Down Tang.

Relative to the above on cut down tangs and strength. If you use the Randall as a knife you will not have the slightest problem. Use it as a pry bar and the knife could develop issues. Both of mine are old model tangs unless they have been doing this for 20 years.

I just looked into it again, they can do that specific customization either way, full or CDT.

I think the photo might be off a little, they do normally radius the shoulders -

I don’t have a #14, But I do have a similar knife #16 Special fighter. The 16 is a dive knife with the #1 blade it becomes the 16SF. It’s a great solid knife. But it is not as lively as a regular #1. If you tried to option out #1 in similar fashion it would cost quite a bit more.

Randall should know better with the 90 degree cut tangs
Yes they should, but the pics speak for themselves. The Pete Hamilton pic of the 14 and 15 in addition to the pic of the model 1 below the radiused "kit" knife depict's the actual radius, which is basically zero.
