randall question

Hi everyone I have a Randall with a compass in the back of the handle is this common to Randall's or just certain models

I'm no expert on Randalls. I own a hollow handle Model 18 with the 7.5 blade. Hardly ever use or carry it. Just too big for 95% of my knife chores. The Randall web site says the 18 is available with a compass is available as an extra feature. Mine does not have it, nor do the other Randalls I've seen. Looking at the pictures on the site, most models don't appear to have provision for a compass, so I think it's unique to the Model 18.

I looked at the 18s same length but no serrations on mine and a solid wood handel

Shedhunter I have been collecting Randall's for a very long time, many models have a compass offered as an option, especially the model 5 and 3' it was not offered just for the model 18. If you want, post a picture in the Randall sub forum in the Collectors Forum, there many folks there that could tell you everything about your knife. Congrats on owning one of the World's most iconic knives!

It's a $20 option, available on many catalog and non-catalog models...
