I am considering ordering a Randall # 5, but wanted to check in here to see if someone could help me out with some questions, mostly because I do have a tendency to be pretty hard on a blade.

1 - Is there a noticable difference between the ease of Sharpening & Edge Retention in the Stainless Vs the Carbon models?
For those that have both - which do you prefer?

2 - Can a Randall be used normally to spilt Wood via Batonning (using another piece of wood to baton) without damage to the knife (primarily concerned about the handle getting loose around the tang).

3 - Question # 2 brings up my last question What is the warranty on a Randall :)?

Thanks so much,

sp

1. No noticeable difference; prefer carbon.

2. Yes, but use a big cheap Ka-Bar instead.

3. Full refund on the return of unused knife (Certification Guarantee). Must purchase new from the manufacturer or authorized dealer.

Expect to own a Randall for life.
