In September of 1984 Wayne Robbins and Randall dealer, Tom Clinton, thought it would be of interest to many Vietnam Veterans to have a Randall Commemorative Knife. After talking with Gary Randall it was decided to make a total of 100 serial numbered pieces.
The knife chosen was a Randall Model No. 1 "All Purpose Fighting Knife" with an 8" stainless steel blade, nickel-silver hilt and Ivorite handle with wrist thong. The right side of the blade is etched in one line "Vietnam Veteran". Noted engraver/scrimshander, Ron Skaggs has scrimshawed on the handle a likeness of the Vietnam Service Medal on the right side. On the opposite side "VIETNAM VETERAN" is scrimshawed. Randall Vietnam Knife serial number 25 can be seen in the Randall Knife Museum.
I think the 1 of 10, brown knife, is a knock-off copy of the one above. This is just my personal opinion. If someone knows if I am correct or wrong please let us know here. If I am right do you know who made these? Usually if something like these is legit they want it in the newsletter.
Gocong. How about a picture of all three of your knives showing the Vietnam Veteran scrim areas also?
