Hey guys between Model 16 and 18 which blade is more versatile? (assuming 16

is 7'' and 18 is 7.5'') both has their original standard features. Which would you

choose and why? Let me know you opinions. Thank you all for replying.

I'll take both ) Seriously though, it really depends on what you intend to use them for. For a true "survival knife", the model 18 is hard to beat, I believe the 5 1/2 version to be more usefull though. The 16 was designed for heavy duty salt water use, will you be diving with it etc. ? The 16 would also be a great chopper around the camp site and a full leangth tang not present in the model 18 may be a consideration. For me, there's something about the model 18 that catches my eye, it's a clasic randall, and very interesting.

Can't go wrong with a "Whole" knife, I personally never put much stock in hollow handle knives. But i doubt Randall would do the design all wrong. and they clearly have added some good survival traits like the holes in the hilt for lashing or chopping leashes for your wrist.

The #16, while great for salt water / diving, I would personally, go ahead and get a #14 in eigther O-1 if you don't need to worry about submersion for long periods, and SS if you do, and order it with a single hilt gaurd. Nothing against the #16, I just love the #14 pattern.

So i guess my answer would be niegther of the two you selected, hope you don't mind that answer.
