**For the remainder of GAW #1 ... I will allow two guesses at the number I selected. If you've already entered ... you can guess a second number too.**

**********************************************************************************************************************************

I joined this great forum on February 3rd of this year as a complete knife novice. Although I know a little more than I did about knives in February ... I am still a novice. I've learned that not only do I like traditional folders (slip joints) and fixed blade hunting knives, I've convinced myself Busse knives are now a necessity as well as modern folders and automatics. I also admire the knife maker's work on this forum and have purchased 12 knives from several different makers. I was welcomed into one of The Porch's Case Pass-arounds that I was able to trade a few of my Case knives. I've bought and traded with approximately 70 members of this forum with only one hitch. Due to my stupidity for not reading/adhering to the sticky posted by Blade Forums moderators, Stop Using PPFF, I was victim of fraud by a scammer that "reeled me in" when I posted my personal email in a thread and you can guess what happened. Live and learn ...

The kindness I have been privy to by generous members of this forum, namely link2derek link2derek SteelCrucible SteelCrucible Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , has changed the way I think about life and how to treat others. Thank you gentlemen!

That said, I am planning a series of GAWs to spread kindness, like I have been the recipient, to random BF members. See below for the knife, or groupings of, the planned separate GAWs:

Here are the rules:
1. I am requesting that you do not enter if you plan to resell the knife(s) - please use the honor system. If you don't want what you receive ... gift it to someone else you think would. Thank you
2. To benefit membership in BF ... be a paying member located in the lower 48 US states. Exceptions will be made for non-paying members, located in the lower 48 US states, with at least 3 months longevity and 100 posts.
3. THAT'S IT!!!

How GAW #1 will work:
1. I will select a number between 1 and 10.
2. Only one entry, per member, per draw.
3. I will stop the GAW after the first 5 members guess the number I selected, or by this Sunday @ noon EST - whichever occurs first.
4. I will randomly assign the members playing cards 9,10, Jack, Queen, King - then I will shuffle the deck and start flipping cards until a card assigned to a member appears. That is the winner! Each winner is not eligible for my next 6 GAWs to ensure the kindness is spread about.
5. For the prizes, I will randomly assign each pictured prize a playing card 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King - then I will shuffle the deck and start flipping cards until a card assigned to the prize appears. That is the prize the winner will receive.
6. I'll post the winner once I sort it out. The winner will contact me within 24 hours and provide a shipping address.
7. I ship the prize within 2 business days.

I hope this is fun for all, plus it will give me something else to do besides thinking of stuff to spend my retirement fund on.

GAW #1 starts NOW! Guess the number I selected between 1 & 10.

Just a hint to others ... only ONE person guessed the correct # thus far ...

Good Luck :)

I’m gonna have to guess umm.. the number you are thinking of!

Naa sitting in the hospital the last couple days. So this is fun. I like the method! I’ll go with my lucky number 7

I love the spirit of this GAW. Awesome stuff, Dennis!
Thanks to BF and its members that have been so welcoming. I wanted to share the kindness and maybe make someone's day just a little better. This is a great place to spend a little free time and moderators do a great job of keeping any rhetoric at bay. Although, The Knife Exchange can take a big hit to your slush fund if you have no self control like ... ME. Is there anyone out there that doesn't welcome a USPS Priority Mail box containing something nice? 🧐
