nice pics!

Rick, I have a 8 year old daughter in that boat... Trying to figure out how to start her off right, got any suggestions? I was thinking to just make her shoot right handed...

yep! a good pirates patch, a .22 rifle, about 500 rounds of CCI Mini Mag, and a good "Snapping In" is how my Dad (Former Marine) got my youngest brother to shoot right handed. then just to reinforce the training he wouldnt allow him (or me and my younger brother too) to get a scope until we could print a smily face :) at 50 yards on a 3x5 card. :( (but boy are we ever crack shots now!:D)

Built for the 20%ers among us.

Rick - left-handed but right-eyed, go figure

Yep, shes a lefty. I'm one of the lucky lefties being left eye dominant
That's the first rifle I bought after being a reach over throughout my youth. I know a few like yourself who are off eyed from the strong side, they shoot right handed and started early that way. For me it's like throwing a football offhand, doesn't feel right and looks worse.

Thanks all

I am left-eye dominant but grew up shooting right-handed.
This is not such a problem with a rifle, because the sights will align correctly no matter which eye you are using.
However, when I took up wing shooting as an adult, I found that it is a tremendous problem with a shotgun. When I transitioned totally to left-handed, the biggest thing was lack of the muscle memory I hand on the right
side.

Do her a favor. Train her from the beginning to shoot from the dominant eye side.

Freaks. You should just make-due. It's like left-handed golfers. I can't play with them either. Screws me up when they address the ball from the wrong side.

BTW - nice pix.

Teach her to shoot with both eyes open using ghost ring sights.

at about a year old i started out a lefty, my parents just duct taped my left arm (which my left hand was attached to) to my left side. didn't take long for me to figure out that in order to stay alive i had to eat with my right hand.

thanks to my parents ingenuity and quick thinking i am a righty. both my parent are long gone now.

suppose they would get pissed if i were to take the tape off?

Threadjacking, to be sure...

I was diagnosed at scout camp when I was 8 or 9. The only way for me to deal with it was to learn to shoot righty. My eleven year old son has the reverse problem and has learned to shoot lefty. Trying to shift dominance in my eyes was too difficult.
