These are just some random shots I've taken while I have been out and about working, I love my job. There really weren't any physical skills being practiced in these shots, mostly just observations. So... I'll go ahead and get the shots of the usual gear I had with me out of the way.

My fixed blades vary...but the rest of the kit in this pic is almost always on me when I am out and traveling light. The BK-11 is almost always in my camera pack.

The Izula often gets thrown in a pocket when I am carrying my other pack.

and the DART is the larger fixed blade I have been carrying lately, especially in thicker areas of growth.

I live in a temperate rain forest, so it is often rainy and foggy here. I love to go hiking in the mists, it makes for some pretty cool views.

A lot of groundhogs too, this little guy didn't seem to mind getting his picture taken.

The sun does occasionally come out, and the sky is sometimes blue. Some shots from along a creek after days of rain.

and lots of birds. I'd say from the cacophony of sound in my back yard every morning now nearly all of the birds have returned.

Nice pictures mistwalker. Bit of an encouragement to those of us in places where spring hasn't quite gotten the message it's supposed to be here. Those shots of the fog/mist are great. Fog is amazing to hike in.

That groundhog looks really mangy. He's not healthy for sure. Missing a bunch of hair and he looks pretty thin. The ones around here look like furry bowling balls.

Oh yeah! Spring is definitely here! And yes I love how it often gets so foggy here, I love hiking in it.

Yeah, he does look a little rough. At first I thought maybe he was just shedding the winter coat, but looking at the pics, and other groundhogs I've seen lately I think it is a skin problem.

Beautiful pics Mist!!

Thank you Tony, I'm glad you liked them!

Thanks Pit, glad you liked them.

Yeah, I'm impressed with it, I just posted a review of it in the general section. It is doing great!

The first few minutes of the encounter was spent with it buzzing around my face. It was a little disconcerting at first lol, I'm still not sure what it is....

Great pics Myst...Wish you would ship me some of that rain!

Oh, by the middle of spring I'll be wishing I could send it to anybody that wants it...but that's life in a rain forest. By the dry part of summer I'll be waiting on the rains again.

Great Pics!, things are starting to shape up around this neck of the woods also... This is the start of my favorite time of the year.

Thanks for sharing!

Oh, my favorite season is definitely autumn, but it is so short-lived. By the time spring arrives I have been seeing all the lifelessness for so long I'm ready for the green again and enjoy all of the life, sounds and color coming back into my woods. Then...after a couple of month of dealing with the tiny, and sometimes not so tiny, flying vampires I'm ready for autumn again lol.

Great pics as usual, Mist! The lady and I plan on taking a walk tomorrow, and I'll probably be similarly "armed" with a Vic OHT, minimal tools, and my Canon 50D with a few lenses tossed in the pack. You sure do have a good eye, bud. I always look forward to seeing your pics.

Thanks Nadz, glad you enjoy the photos. Yeah, a camera is almost always part of my load out now...except on the days I run away from everything lol.

nice pics, man especially the spider web and bug pics. i like winter but by now i'm sick of it too.

Hey mistwalker,

Great pictures! BTW, I recently acquired a Izula II - you have to try it! The little bit of extra length makes all the difference.

Thanks man, glad you liked them. Yeah, I get tired of winter here with everything looking so lifeless...but it doesn't take me long to get tired of summer either.

Thanks Doc. Well, I have been waiting on the new "tweeners" from BK&T (also made by Rowen) to maybe replace my old RC-3 with something of similar size but a thicker blade for belt carry. For the most part I just carry my HESTs and I am happy. But...with the tweener debut being next SHOT show I may have to give the I-2 a go just to see. I'm thinking just from my other Izulas it is still going to be too small for what I want for belt carry, too big for neck carry and I'll just be right back to the HEST. Yet who knows...I do have a lot of niches :)
